Grey Squirrel in Pack 365

For the past few years I have been serving in the Cub Scouts in many different capacities. Currently I am the Cub Committee Chairperson while Kevin is our pack's Cubmaster. He was called about 6 months ago and has definitely made a fun impact with the cub scouts. He has brought laughter and fun in to pack 365. Here's a little bit of what I mean...

This is Mitchell's last few months of cub scouts & it sure has been wonderful being a part of his progression. He'll be receiving his Webelos badge next month & in April he'll be awarded his Arrow of Light and then move up to Boy Scouts.

We love you Mitchell & are so proud of all your hard work & commitment to Cub Scouts!

Santa Baby

Maddie had a great time caroling with her singing group for Christmas. She and her best friend also sang for the school's talent show. Here are the two cuties in their matching glitter Santa hats...

Do, A Deer, A Female Deer...

For the past 5 years we have watched a family of deer grow and multiply in our back yard. The other day all 6 of them were hanging out together and I was able to snap a few shots.

This is the 2nd generation who just had babies this past summer...

This is the Grandpa Buck who we first saw 5 years ago...

Here are 3 of them...the Grandma and 2 babies were to the left eating...

Pa Poo takes the Wheel!

Grandpa really enjoyed Kevin's snowblower. He couldn't find enough driveways to blow, so he started on our cul-de-sac! You gotta love Denver.....all this snow and you don't even need a heavy coat!

Once there was a Snowman...

On Christmas Day we enjoyed one another and our family visiting us this year--Grandpa (or "Pa Poo" as Emy called him), Donna & Aunt Susan. It snowed ALL DAY LONG!!! It was the first time since we've lived here that it has snowed on the 25th. It made Christmas really feel like Christmas!!! We enjoyed sledding in our yard and at our BIG neighborhood hill. We found out that Emy is a TRUE Snow Bunny....after watching the big boys sledding on their tummies, head first, she yelled to do the same thing and even all alone. She laughed all day in the snow until we finally had to bring her in.....then she SCREAMED!!!

Our Christmas Miracle

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!!! We missed seeing all of our family this time of year, but please know that we love you very much.

Here are some of our favorite memories that we made this Christmas 2007...

The boys visiting Santa's "brother" who was helping out this year at the mall. We had to settle for him because the real Santa and Mrs. Claus, who is usually at Nordstrom and we have visited with for the past 5 years was missing!! The boys were really concerned, but knew that there letters would somehow get to the North Pole.

After our visit at the mall we decided to go to Chick-fil-a near our house. We were almost finished with lunch when a familiar looking couple walked in. I noticed their friendly smiles from Nordstrom and wondered if it was the "real Santa & Mrs. Claus"??? The boys made several passes by their booth to see if they recognized them....they weren't quite sure because they were in plain clothes and they had never seen Santa dipping chicken nuggets!! Sooo...I decided to take action! We walked over to the couple and asked them if they usually worked at Nordstrom this time of year......and then we heard, "Ho Ho Ho!! Why yes! We sure do" It was them! The boys were so excited!!! We told them we missed seeing them at Nordstrom and they said that sometimes they went "undercover" to watch the children in "real life" so they can see if they truly are being good.

This was our little Christmas Miracle that we were the ONLY ones who recognized them for who they really were. Luckily I had a camera and was able to get a picture of Santa & Mrs. Claus with the boys....it was a special moment for us all!!
