Zoo with the 2-Crew

This is Jack's last week of "track-off" and we decided to do some fun stuff since the weather is just gorgeos now & he'll be returning to school next week.

Our first day of fun was going to the ZOO!! It had been 2 years since we last went and it was a lot of fun experiencing it with Emy (since she didn't remember the last time we went).

Our first stop was the Penguins....it was breakfast time for them & we got to watch the zoo worker feed them fish one by one.

Then, our next stop was a new exhibit where you entered into a Lorakeet Aviary where the lorakeets flew around freely and would land on your arms so you could feed them nectar. AMAZING!! Emy was not scared AT ALL!!

Notice Emy checking out the bird on top, as to say, "I'm feeding your friend, but watching you closely dude. Don't make any sudden movements!"

KANGAROOS!!!
Emy & Jack loved watching them jump! There were lots of little babies in their mommy's pouches, too.

We wrapped up our fun day with a drum solo in the African Farm exhibit....

First Competitive League

Maddie has been playing for a new volleyball competitive league with a new coach & team. She has really gotten serious about playing since attending BYU camp this past summer & has worked really hard on her skills. Her coach is just wonderful and she plans on continuing with this team throughout the year. I couldn't get any decent video of her setting, but I got one serve....I'll try again this weekend.

She is #10

Maddie Marches for Homecoming

Last week was our High School's homecoming parade & game (we won, yeh!) and the 8th grade band is invited to march for their VERY FIRST experience at MARCHING!!!!

Maddie was a little aprehensive, but I think all in all she had a fun time. They sounded GREAT! (Not as good as CC-mind you, but very good) Of course, where we were standing was "in-between" their songs, but we got a great shot of her.

CAN YOU FIND HER???
THANK GOODNES FOR HER HEIGHT.....MAKES IT EASIER TO SEE HER!

This is Emy's lovely new past time.....such a little lady???

My handsome boys!!

Hiding out in the tree.....I was very grateful she wasn't pooping!
You never know...

Jack Earns his Bobcat

Jackson is a proud Cub Scout and loves to go each week. He has worked hard over the summer and has earned his Bobcat badge & is well on his way to receiving his Wolf. Since becoming the Primary President, I am not directly involved with our Cub Scouts anymore--which makes me sad, but I made SURE that our leaders are AWESOME!!!! Kevin was released as the Cubmaster, as well. Now we get to sit back and enjoy.

Way to go, Jackson! We are so proud of YOU!!

Summer Cub Camp

This summer was Jack's first year at Cub Day Camp. Mitch decided to go as a Den Aide and help with the leaders at camp, so it was nice to have them both there with me. I look forward to going every year with our pack--to see their excitement & friendship grow in the beautiful outdoors. Jackson had so much fun shooting arrows, bb guns, running races, finding bugs & hiking.

Nana's Summer Visit

In June, Mom flew out to CO for a visit with her friend, Jim. We kept them busy, busy & had a wonderful time showing them the beautiful Colorado summer. We toured Boulder, went out and ate Bison, watched Jack play some baseball & ended up with a relaxing time by the pool.

Emy's favorite place to be...

A Day at the Park w/ Aunt Susan

Getting ready to go, go, go in the convertable for an "Emy Grace" day....which is what Susan calls a day when she needs a baby fix and kidnaps Emy.

Is she already chasing boys??? I'm not ready for another one...

Who can resist those brown eyes??? Not me...
